I am a very experienced writing tutor. I run two seminars at my home in North London which is near a Piccadilly Line station.
TAKING YOUR WRITING FURTHER - Poetry School Seminar
A group for poets at publication stage which focuses on detailed feedback and discussion of participants’ poems in each session. It begins with a focus on a poetry topic and will include this year: the possibilities of syntax, editing, making connections between different pieces work with the thought of sequences of series in mind.
11 monthly meetings on Tuesdays 1.30-4.30 monthly. Sessions are intensive but with a tea break. Entry to this group is by application.
There are no places available at the moment: October 2019 to July 2020 so do contact me if the group interests you. I may well have a place by next summer and would reserve one for you if I think you would fit into the group after looking samples of your work. In case I can give you advice and possibly help you in some other way.

READ TO WRITE MONTHLY SEMINAR
One possible place available
Seminar with a focus on both reading and writing for those with some experience of writing poetry or serious prose. Each session begins with a focus on a published poet.
Monthly meetings for those who have had some experience in writing poetry or serious creative prose, involving in-depth feedback to develop critical skills and close study of published texts by published poets. Entry to this ongoing group is by application. Please send in 3 sample poems. Sessions from October to January (10.45-12.45)

INDIVIDUAL TUTORIALS
For many years I have been offering individual tutorials, usually in my house in North London but occasionally I can arrange to give these in central London at a quiet venue I’ve found. Tutorials need to be booked in advance. If you would like an assessment of your work please do contact me for details.
ONE-OFF WORKSHOPS
I have run and co-run one-off poetry workshops all over the country and abroad for poetry groups, schools and other organizations, also at Poetry Festivals. Currently, I mainly run one-off workshops in the greater London area or at locations I can reach and return from in a day such as Winchester, Swindon and Wivenhoe.
